Mehrdad Mahdjoubi

Founder & CEO

Mehrdad Mahdjoubi is CEO and Founder of Orbital Systems. Prior to founding Orbital Systems, Mahdjoubi was involved in design collaboration projects at NASA’s Johnson Space Center related to Mars Missions. Inventor of the technology and the source of Design and Trademark registrations, Mahdjoubi has received awards and nominations such as the 2011 iF Concept Award and the 2012 iF Design Talents for leading other projects during his years in the academia. He is also the recipient of the 2012 Zennström Green Mentorship Award, and the 2013 Malmö Business Rookie of the Year award. In 2014 Mahdjoubi received SKAPA Utvecklingsstipendium—Sweden’s most prestigious innovation award—and was selected Technician of the Year by The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Southern Sweden; an award which was presented by the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.  In 2015 Orbital Systems received an Edison Award in New York City, and the Space Foundation's International Space Certificate, for breaking grounds on an international level with its disruptive technologies.

Mahdjoubi holds a MFA in Industrial Design, and has additional studies in National and Financial Economics and Design Management from Lund University in Sweden.
